Today, we can design an electro-mechanical automated system for a given process which is carried out manually at present. Companies need this basically to eliminate manual labour which is a cost saver. Also, the automated system can prevent all manual errors and dependency on human operator. Our designed system not only addresses these issues, but also serves as a low-cost automation solution. Depending on whether a semi-automatic or fully automatic process to be designed, our design and programming teams deliver an appropriate solution.

We have in-house system designers who are well experienced in industrial processes. The existing system is studied intricately, and an animated version of the proposed automated solution is shown to the client. The expected increase in production, with accuracy of course, is estimated and discussed upon. Once approved, we proceed further for implementation. Many simple and complex processes have been automated by us.

Pick & Place Automation

Quite simple to visualize, this application is not as easy to automate. A lot of actions that a human hand can do swiftly and intelligently in terms of lifting, accurate placement, gently releasing can be considerably involved. It requires pneumatics for lifting and releasing, servo action for arm movement, pre-programmed sequences for placement of the item while taking feedback from sensors. Conveyors, mechanical systems, programming of PLC etc, all find important roles in this automation.

Welding SPM

We have successfully automated welding SPM machines, by designing the mechanisms for torch movements. Both linear and angular movements, chuck controlling, tailstock are possible to weld on non-standard jobs. Our systems are also used for angular weaving on pipes, profile cutting of pipes etc.

Ultrasonic Testing of Gears

Orion Electronics has designed a complete electro-mechanical system used for Ultrasonic Testing of gears used in automobiles. Basically, the gears are tested under water for the quality of their weld. Our systems are interfaced with advanced software that shows the results of the ultrasonic tests on their screens. Together, the system works seamlessly to give very reliable and accurate tests.
